Name: Stuart Edward (named after Ted Dexter according to Dad) Thresher

Age: 42 - that’s years of experience

Role: Everything evenly spread over 500 appearances. Captain for twenty years largely due to the size of his brothers rather than astute field placings. Grey hairs prove that they weren’t doing him any favours.

Best: 14 pints followed by a particularly hot chicken phal at the Bombay brasserie in 1992 after scoring 154 n.o against Orpington that afternoon. Also noted for his 2 rounds of Ardennes pate sandwiches for the speldhurst game last year.

Comments: Known for lack of sense of humour at farcical fielding although doesn’t often move from 2nd slip himself. Has won the” Thresher trophy” on many occasions by carefully manipulating the rest of the batting order. His Dad, brothers and cousin have all played for Kent but not necessarily at cricket. After much discussion both he and his brothers have conceded that their cousin (David Fulton) is perhaps a better cricketer than they (Brian Andrews would no doubt disagree!)

--------------------------------------

Name: Trendy Trenowden

Age: 43

Role: Retired slow bowler and pinch hitter

Best: 7 wkts for 10 against Weald and 89 v Matfield and Chevening Amblers

Comment: I have driven 135,000 miles over 20 years in order to achieve a career batting average of 13.66 now that has to be value for money.

--------------------------------------

Name: Tony Fenn a.k.a.Brucie

Age: 50+ (yes only 50+ ask JC but 1953 was the year)!

Role: You name it I done it – Batting, bowling (yes - look at the averages!), wicket keeping, fielding, catching, dropping, mobile drink dispensing, scarifying, ground maintenance, treasurer, fixtures secretary, secretary, committee, teas, carnival float. Suppose I am now (still) a mid-order batsman and third line wicket keeper!

Best: 88 runs (being run out by the bowler diving to stop a “beautiful” JC straight drive and directing the ball onto the stumps at the bowlers end, where I was already in my stride)!

Comments: Next year is the 30th anniversary of the re-formed Knockholt CC and therefore having been nominated Treasurer at the inaugural meeting and on the committee ever since, am looking forward to onlooking the next 30 years?Name:

----------------------------------------

Name: Ed Roffey

Age: 27

Role: LHB, Nurdler and Anchor-role player!

Best: 57 Not Out against Petts Wood (2004)

Comment: I idolise Graham Thorpe!

---------------------------------------------------

James Amos  AKA Jamos

Age 44

Position: Opening bowler and middle to late order batsman.  Father of the club's junior policy (qv). Fixture secretary, assistant groundsman and lawn mower consultant; owner of the raking machine.  Manufacturer of badges for the Six club.

Best:  Batting  62  and bowling 5-15

Comment:  Ambition - To have a batting average higher than my bowling average, just for one season.  Would this make me a genuine all-rounder?

---------------------------------------------------

Name:  Ollie Amos or Jamos Junior

Age: 11

Role:  The Club's Junior policy

Best:  A:  getting in the team (Jeez!  we must have been short!)  and B: 0 not out

Comment:  This is just the start of a glorious career at Knockholt CC.  Me and dad, batting together in the twilight, chasing down the total, and I let Dad hit the winning runs!

---------------------------------------------------

Name: John Searle

Age: 50

Role: (Batsman, Bowler, WK, Fielder, Teas etc....) Batsman/WK

---------------------------------------------------

Name: Duncan Ohwhatalongname Warwick-Champion

Age: 41

Comment: Loudest player in the league

----------------------------------------------------

Name: Neil Hope

Age: 31

Role: Cricketer (Debatable!)

Best: 57 Batting. 7 for 27 bowling

Comment: Often gives a good reason for the nickname of Muppet!!!

----------------------------------------------------

Name: James Finn / Finnman / Finny / Hershy / Ladyboy / Spinman (for a brief and fairly unsuccessful trial during the 1st half of the 2005 season)

Age: 26 (for 2006 season)

Role: Batsman / Bowler

Best for Knockholt: 70 v Cudham Wyse (although I should never have been given out!), 4 – 29.

Comments: Having battled with adversity and overcome countless potential career threatening injuries, Finnman re-entered the fold of Knockholt cricket in the glorious (lower mid table finishing) season of 2005. His batting was a superb display of inconsistency which saw him finish third in the batting averages and second in the table of ducks.
Having flirted with the possibility of bowling left arm spin, until the pressure exerted by the wily spinmaster himself, JC, got too much to handle, he has now reverted back to his medium pace swing / seam bowling and, providing he doesn’t get enticed back to play a game of rugby, should be fully fit as we enter the 2006 season. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

----------------------------------------------------

Name: John Collins

Age:21

Role: Allrounder

Best: 150 not out and 6 for not many  in 1 Day International v Australia at Lords

Comment: Can't think of anything amusing to say-I'm sure someone else can

---------------------------------------------------

Name: Cory Blackmore

Age: 28

Role: Extra Cover...for the team!

Best: To be provided post 2006 season. (Currently: Bowling,
3-39 and Batting, a woeful 27)

Comment: Key Targets for 2006 Season: reducing my fines for late
arrival and scoring a ton! (Which is more realistic??)

----------------------------------------------------

Name: Mark the Magician Fenn!!!

Name: Mark “Curtley” Jones

Age: 35 going on 50 (a certain half-century to be had this season!)
